International Night Program

Studying foreign language, such as english and french is interesting for me. That's why I'm very happy having the chance to study english in Pusdiklat Bahasa Badiklat Dephan. We have many good experienced instuctors and furthermore studying english here will give us the opportunity to go abroad, and it's free.

Last week we had an annual program, called International Night Program. It was quite interesting to know about other countries culture, including foods and dances. During the program we could taste many original cuisines such as Tom Yam Kung fromThailand, Peking duck from China, Shabu-shabu from Japan, Hainan chicken rice from Singapore, and there were many more good-tasted food that I couldn't even remember the name.

First of all, I will tell about the preparation that we've done. We chose a theme for our stand, by coincidence we had an australian stand. So we had to pick, among many choices, one symbol representing Australia. Last year the former students had Opera House as theme, so we decided to have Parliament House as this year's theme. It was quite difficult to bring it in reality, yet we succeded. In addition, we had to show a sing and dance performance in very short time. But we did it great and we were awarded as the best performer in International Night Program.

In my opinion, this program should be continued every year. It's an interesting and useful program to develop the language capabilities and to get to know the foreign culture.
